A Bios Reset will solve the prob until the next normal boot. Remove the keyboard and start the laptop. Worked great and computers scare the hell out of me. I did blow out the inside of the laptop, re-assembled it, and the lights were out again! Now a few questions. The motherboard is fried, therefore system recovery is useless. Thank you very much on the keyboard replacement instructions.

Now istead of a blue rv9700 light I have an orange light. If both laptops have SATA hard drives installed you can do that but… do not boot Windows from dv7 hard drive on dv laptop. I have the same problem with my 2 yr old HP Pav us as does Daniel. You can try this one.
